The Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital & Health Centre Critical Care Unit (CCU) provides general and cardiac intensive care in a 4-bedded set-up. This excludes conditions where more complex input is required. In these cases, patients may be transferred to Christchurch Hospital.
Critical Care Unit patients are the sickest patients, requiring at times one-to-one nursing.
The Critical Care Unit team is made up of experienced Doctors, Registered Nurses and Allied Health staff.
The Doctors and Nurses have specialised in taking care of seriously ill patients, working closely with the Physicians and Surgeons.
Please contact the Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital & Health Centre main reception desk 03 7697400 – Extension 0. Our friendly staff will be able to transfer calls or help with any enquiries you may have.
