For immediate release
The West Coast DHB is scaling down the number of mass COVID-19 vaccination sites, now that most West Coasters are fully vaccinated.
Tracey Maisey, Emergency Coordination Centre Incident Controller, West Coast & Canterbury DHBs says more than 70,000 doses of vaccine have been administered on the West Coast since the programme began, and free COVID vaccinations are now available in many pharmacies, general practices and rural health clinics.
The DHB will continue to offer drive/ride/walk-through vaccination in Westport and Greymouth, with new opening times:
These sites will be closed for vaccination from Friday 15 April to Monday 18 April for Easter.
People can still access COVID-19 vaccinations in Hokitika at Westland Pharmacy (12+ only) and Westland Medical Centre. Reefton Medical Centre will start providing COVID-19 vaccination clinics later in April.
Regular COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Reefton (at the community centre) and Hokitika (at the Mountain Jade building) have now ended.
Refer to www.healthpoint.co.nz for up to date clinic hours and booking details.
