Radiology, also often referred to as X-ray department, provides general x-ray, ultrasound scans, CT scans, bone density scans and some specialist procedures..
The team is based in Greymouth, and facilities are also available in Westport for X-rays.
Patients needing scans and X-rays will be referred to Radiology by their doctor, nurse, physiotherapist or other health professional.
Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital & Health Centre provides chest x-ray services for new immigrants. Immigrants would have to first go to High Street Medical Centre for a medical exam, the GP there will then refer them to the Te Nīkau, Grey Hospital & Health Centre Radiology department for the chest x-ray and Radiology will then upload the x-ray and report to the immigration online database.
